Jacob Schatz joined Cyber X Designs in 2009 as our Flash, Action Script, Flex and Air genius.  He works with our visual designers to bring their work to life as interactive educational applications and animated web sites.   Jacob is also a talented PHP programmer with the chops to develop WordPress Plugins, Joomla! extensions and custom applications.

Jacob got his start coding while attending West Chester University of Pennsylvania working toward a performance degree for piano.  His passion for coding grew out of his passion for music and he found himself spending his free time writing programs just for enjoyment.  He sees a natural relationship between music performance and the critical thinking skills required to solve complex problems using a computer.

Jacob’s remarkable enthusiasm for coding coupled with his quick wit and desire to contribute to the community has driven him to develop several popular Flex and Flash tutorials.  You can find his tutorials on his blog at: http://jacobschatz.com/

Jacob is a voracious reader with an appetite for technical manuals.  He is a contributing member of ActionScript.org as a moderator.  He is also an accomplished musician having performed in Broadway shows.   When he isn’t reading, coding or playing you will find him waxing nostalgic for the 90’s and roller blading.
