If you find yourself at Exit 102 on the Garden State Parkway, you will be near Asbury Park in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Asbury Park was developed in the late 1800's as a seaside resort for New Yorkers. After World War II, the Garden State Parkway was built which reduced the number seaside vacationers who traveled by train, thus sending Asbury Park's economy into a decline. In 1970, riots took place which destroyed some of the buildings in the downtown area. There is currently a push for the revival of this old seaside gem that is being led by local and national artists. Perhaps the town is most famous for being part of Bruce Springsteen's debut album Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., which was released in 1973.
Cyber X Designs has found that with so many people in such a small area, there’s never a shortage of creative inspiration, though parking spaces are another matter.
